"When Dad died we held his funeral service in the Waihi Beach Community Centre. It was big enough to hold the service. The hall was bright and sunny, and of course the kitchen and supper room were ample for the after service. It was a venue easy to access, being on the main beach road opposite the RSA, and it had the large car park."

"We catered a wedding there in 2011. The kitchen was great to work in, large bench areas for preparation and serving while leaving plenty of space for the microwave and warmer. The large oven with 6 gas hobs was a welcome surprise as very few community facilities have one of that size, and having another normal sized oven as well helped with the warming too. But the best thing of all was the walk in chiller, it was great to be able to prep early and have somewhere to store it all (as well as storing all the wine and soft drinks). Well done Waihi Beach Community Centre for providing such a well thought out facility for all."

"For seven years the Waihi Beach Art & Craft Fair is held in this amazing venue . This Fair has now become an icon for Waihi Beach and the Coromandel, Bay of Plenty area. Stall holders are amazed at the facilities we have here at Waihi Beach. As organiser having participated in many events both in New Zealand and Australia, this Community Centre has so much to offer for a small community like Waihi Beach and is a wonderful asset to our community."
